Sir Nic Dakin MP Member of Parliament for the Scunthorpe Constituency
Thank you to everyone who has been in touch to share their feedback regarding the consultation.
I am seriously concerned that the proposed change in eligibility criteria for Non-Emergency Patient Transport Services may result in poorer health outcomes for local people here in the Scunthorpe area.
An effective patient transport system is vital to ensure that residents from across our area can access healthcare services, especially elderly, disabled, and rural patients who do not have access to transport.
Reducing the eligibility criteria risks placing an additional barrier to residents accessing important treatments. There is a real danger that such changes may result in greater health inequalities and deteriorating health outcomes for the local population.
